MEET [CHERISH POSEY]
Meet Mission Fitness Yoga for Kid's instructor, Cherish Posey. You [and your kiddos] can catch Cherish every Wednesday evening at 5:30p and each Friday at 8:45a. Cherish leads our Yoga for Kids program at Mission Fitness, providing kids a fun and active option while their parents [CRUSH IT] @ Mission. Hometown? I was born in Covington, Louisiana but we moved around quite a bit growing up with my Dad’s job.
Occupation? Stay at Home Mom and Children’s Yoga Instructor. I was a Hospital Recruiter prior to that.
Biggest accomplishment? Definitely my “almost” 5 year old daughter, Landry. Also, becoming a Certified Children’s Yoga Instructor and having the opportunity to work at such an incredible place, Mission Fitness, with the most amazing owners and staff!
Favorite thing about Mobile? We moved to Mobile a year ago and everyone has been very welcoming and friendly. The city seems to be a thriving area with lots to do and has some great restaurants!
Favorite Class at Mission Fitness? How can I pick a favorite? Each class is fabulous in it’s own way, but I guess I would have to say any class that includes the Reformer! (which I had no idea how to use before joining Mission Fitness) Core Re[Form) is probably my favorite, because it is such a great mix of concentration, movements and tempo.
What motivates you to stay consistent with your [own] workouts? Group fitness classes keep me motivated and the energy of everyone in class keep me going! I look forward to seeing the other members and instructors and CRUSHING the Mission Fitness workouts! Health is another big factor! I want to be able to keep up with my super active little girl and hopefully grandchildren some day!
What do you like to do when you’re not working out/teaching at Mission Fitness? I love traveling and making lots of memories with my little family, volunteering, meeting new people, delicious food and fabulous wine! [all of the reasons I need to work out!]
Any tips for current or prospective members? It’s not about “having” time, it’s about making time! Your health is so important and you will never regret a day of joining Mission Fitness. Also, motivation is what gets you started, but habit is what keeps you going! Stay motivated, even if that means purchasing a new pair of yoga pants to get you moving and to the gym again!

Each Kidding Around Yoga with Cherish class offers a complete, age-appropriate yoga practice including breathing instruction, relaxation techniques, stretching and strengthening poses, all using fun-filled music, games, and imagination. KAY’s secret is our playfulness, keeping your child motivated, excited and moving. Kidding Around Yoga classes are a unique opportunity to give your child skills that will provide a sense of balance, calm and power for years to come. I hope to see your child/children in class soon!
