MISSION WALKS FOR A CAUSE
Greetings, Mission Fitness Family!
It is I, Stacia Yim, Captain of Team Mission Fitness, ready to bravely lead us into realms of heroism, intrigue and adventure heretofore unexplored!!!!
Okay, well actually: I'm coordinating Team Mission Fitness for this year's NAMI Walk. Same diff.
However much or little you'd like to be involved, please know there is a way for you to support this wonderful cause! I'll quickly outline what you need to know below.
WHAT IS NAMI?
The National Alliance on Mental Illness is the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization. It is dedicated to improving the lives of all those who have been affected by mental illness. Considering that each year, one in five Americans experience some sort of mental illness, NAMI's work is crucial. For those of you who may not know, my family has been deeply touched by mental illness, and NAMI saved us. They saved our family from darkness, fear and isolation. I can say with full confidence that without NAMI, not all of my family would have survived the devastation mental illness wreaked.
WHAT, WHERE AND WHEN IS THE NAMI WALK?
This is our biggest fundraiser...it's a fun 5K at Medal of Honor Park on Saturday, April 6th. Check in starts at 8am, and the walk kicks off at 9:15.
HOW IS MISSION SUPPORTING THIS WALK?
We have formed our own walk team - Team Mission Fitness - to participate in the walk itself. We will also have a tent at the event, and we're going to put on a MISSION FITNESS HERO CHALLENGE for the participants to tackle, which registers them for the chance to win some Mission Fitness swag.
HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE?
JOIN TEAM MISSION FITNESS! Or donate to our team if you're unavailable to walk. Either way, click [HERE] to support our team Team Mission Fitness.
