👋 Meet Karen!


She’s an enigma. And here’s why.


In our experience, the toughest demographic of humans to get and keep moving is middle-aged women. Most folks who haven’t made exercise a priority by age 50 never will. Sadly, they’re often the ones who need movement most.


As we age, we begin losing muscle at a rapid pace so our bodies can’t support our daily movements. But it’s not just the muscular system that’s impacted by maturity. Lack of consistent mindful movement impacts every system in the body. From the cardiovascular and lymphatic systems to cognitive function…everything important improves with movement or declines without.


Karen is the exception to this demographic struggle we’ve experienced. An avid runner, Karen realized she needed more to age with strength. She knew her motor-skills, balance and coordination weren’t being challenged through just running. And she did something almost no-one else does…she decided to do something about it.


Since September Karen has attended 63 classes and stands at the top of our latest challenge leaderboard. Here’s more about her and how she’s made a change to her health…for good.


🏡HOME

I’ve been a Midtown-er for 11 years but have called PA, NJ + FL home in the past. I’m a mama to 2 college kids + wife to a cycling-enthusiast husband.


🧑‍💻WORK

I work remotely as a Business Practices Manager for Oracle America.


😍PLAY

I am an avid gardener, love my NYT morning puzzles, reading, kayaking + riding stoker on tandem bike with my husband.


💪MISSION

My favorite class is Core Ride with Sheree.


👏MOTIVATION TO MOVE

Working from home can get lonely. Incorporating the gym into my workday helps me address two needs at once: exercise and socialization.


🚧THE HEALTH HURDLE

This summer my mom had a health setback and was moved to assisted living. It really reinforced that if I want to be mobile in my old age, I need to invest some energy into my health in middle age.
